How to Plan a Hotel Towel Order: Sizes, Pack Quantities and Linen Stock

A hotel towel order needs more than a room count. Start with the towel types each room receives, their dimensions and the quantity needed while used linen goes through the laundry. Then compare the product specifications and ordering units before you purchase.

Choose each towel type by its role

Plan washcloths, hand towels, bath towels and bath mats separately. These items serve different roles and should have separate stock counts. If your property has a pool, calculate pool towel requirements separately from bathroom linen.

Our hotel towels collection includes different dimensions and border styles. Compare the individual listings rather than assuming every towel in the collection uses the same fabric blend, weight or pack size.

Compare product dimensions

The following examples show dimensions listed on selected products. Sizes are in inches. Choose the dimensions that match your property’s requirements and review the full listing before ordering.

Towel type Listed dimensions Product example
Washcloth 12 × 12 View specifications
Hand towel 16 × 27 View specifications
Bath towel 24 × 50 View specifications
Bath mat 20 × 30 View specifications

Check fabric, weight and ordering units

Read the product specifications for fabric composition, towel weight, border style and pack quantity. A weight figure is useful only when you understand the unit it describes. If the listing does not make the weight basis clear, ask for confirmation before comparing products.

Keep pieces, dozens, packs and cases distinct in your purchasing worksheet. A pack quantity is the number supplied in one ordering unit; it is not necessarily the number needed for one room. Convert your stock requirement to the product’s ordering unit before deciding how many units to buy.

Calculate linen in use, in laundry and in reserve

Begin with the number of rooms and the towel setup per room. Add stock needed during your laundry cycle, then add a reserve based on your replacement needs and operating routine. The reserve depends on your property; one fixed stock multiplier should not be assumed suitable for every hotel.

For illustration, a 20-room property placing two bath towels in each room needs 40 bath towels for one complete room setup. If its own operating plan calls for another 40 during laundry and 20 as spare stock, its target is 100 bath towels. This is a calculation example, not a recommendation for every property.

Subtract usable stock already on hand from your target to find the replacement requirement. If an ordering unit contains 12 pieces and the requirement is 100 pieces, nine units supply 108 pieces. This pack size is an example; use the quantity shown on your chosen product.

Keep cleaning cloths separate

Bar mops and cleaning towels belong in a separate purchasing and handling plan from guest bathroom linen. Browse our bar mops collection for cleaning cloth options, and check the listed dimensions and pack sizes.

Frequently asked questions
